What is the Starbucks Community Service Website?

This is a place to find volunteer opportunities in the United States and Canada and connect with people in your community. Each service project is led by a Starbucks partner (employee), but everyone is invited to join projects and address local community needs through service. You can also share your experiences by posting photos from service projects and engaging in discussions. Show us how you made a difference. In addition, you can learn about the impact Starbucks partners and customers are making in communities across the United States and Canada.

How is this connected to Starbucks goal to contribute 1 million community service hours annually by 2015?

We’re continually motivating our partners and customers to join together and become involved in initiatives that make a meaningful impact. Community service hours from projects completed via this website will count toward our goal.

Who can lead a project?

While only Starbucks partners can lead projects, anyone can join a service opportunity. Speak with your local store partners to share ideas for community service projects in your neighborhood.

What are the Community Service Badges?

Badges are a visual way to demonstrate your community activity on this website. Each badge level represents a new level of involvement.

Points are earned by your volunteer efforts and actions on this website:

Lead a service project (partners only) – 40 points

Join a service project – 20 points

Record group service hours (partners only) – 20 points

Post photos to a service project – 10 points

Add a picture and avatar to profile – 5 points

Add five friends – 5 points

Comment on a service project or discussion – 5 points

Start a discussion – 5 points

What is the Community Service Hours Counter?

On the home page of the website the Community Service Hours shows the number of service hours recorded in Starbucks fiscal year (October – September). It includes hours recorded by partners in the U.S., Canada, and other international markets
