What a fantastic day, thanks to all the Starbucks partners, the entire City Year team and all other volunteers who joined together in a powerful way to make a difference today! I am so proud of all that was accomplished! Thanks again to Lauren from Starbucks and Lauren from City Year for your tireless efforts tom organize such an amazing event and for making it so easy for all of us to volunteer !!

Today meant so much to the zoo, thank you ALL for volunteering! What did it mean to YOU? For me personally, it meant feeling like I was part of something much bigger, a movement led by Starbucks all over the world to give back, pay it forward, and make a difference. I would love to hear your thoughts!

This was an amazing personal experience. As always, I got back so much more than I gave. I believe we must seek out ways to stay grounded and be reminded how fortunate we are. It was shocking to learn that there are over 8,000 homeless people in Washington DC, yet the counties surrounding the city are some of the wealthiest in the entire US.

Ryan, Lauren and Denise: thank you SOOO much for opening the doors for us to forge what I know will be a long relationship with S.O.M.E. It is such a worthy organization that makes a real difference to thousands.
