City Year unites young people ages 17 to 24, of all backgrounds for a year of full-time service, giving them the skills and opportunities to change the world. As tutors, mentors, and role models, these diverse young leaders-- called corps members-- help children stay in school and on track, and transform schools and communities across Washington, DC. The MLK Day of Service will allow Starbucks Partners to participate in service projects that help to revitalize Dunbar High School, the Perry School Community Service Center and the oldest Boys and Girls Club in the District. Many of the projects include painting and light construction; comfortable clothing is recommened. Lunch will not be provided.
