Description of volunteer effort:

This project is for the participants of the PNW DM Summit being held in Seattle on April 10th. Marra Farm comprises four acres of historicfarmland in Seattle's South Park neighborhood. The farm serves as a much needed community and green space in this mixed industrial & residential area of Seattle. This community garden allows low-income families an opportunity to access healthy, fresh foods while instilling environmental stewardship and community pride.The Giving Garden at Marra Farm, grows 16,000-22,000 pounds of fresh,organic and culturally-appropriate produce each year to donate to local food banks inSouth Park and Beacon Hill. This could not be done without hundreds of volunteers like you who put in countless hours tending the garden.
