Description of volunteer effort:
Partners for Parents: The collective efforts of two local Starbucks branches bringing encouragement and support to single parents working towards their secondary education. By offering our time and attention to these single parents and their children living at the One Parent Scholar House, we hope to extend Starbucks values and standards into our community. Our desire is to be a catalyst for positive change in the lives of these hard working parents and their precious children. We will spend our time assisting daycare providers at OPSH by entertaining and educating the children of the single parent residents, we will volunteer our time to help clean and make minor repairs to apartments at OPSH, and finally, we will collect various items for the families, (e.g. toys, hygeine products, formula, diapers, etc.) and help distribute them to residents living at OPSH. We will attempt to meet any future needs that arise as our relationship within this unique community grows.
