Description of volunteer effort:

Paws for a Cause was established in conjunction with The Gabriel Institute in 2010. Because large-breed dogs are afflicted with osteosarcoma at a far greater rate than humans, the science and research going into treatment and cures for these dogs may one day be applicable to children suffering from the same disease. Through Paws for a Cause, the Jori Zemel Children's Bone Cancer Foundation pays tribute to our furry friends and their battle, while continuing to raise money and fight for a cure for all types of children's bone cancers. Proceeds raised from Paws for a Cause will benefit the progams of JZCBCF, such as funding critical osteosarcoma research at the Children's Cancer Hospital at MD Anderson Cancer Center and providing financial support for families facing this disease.
