Description of volunteer effort:

Since 1981, more than 3 million tons of trash have been removed from the Potomac River watersheds, rivers, and bays on the Potomac River Watershed Clean Up Day. This project is a great way to get outside with family, friends, and partners and collect and remove trash from local waterways that lead into the Potomac River. The idea is to remove the trash before it has a chance to enter the Potomac River.
