Description of volunteer effort:
Have you ever looked into the eyes of a Purple Heart Recipient, or a Veteran who has never been thanked for his sacrifice and service. When we hand them a Quilt of Honor, a quilted hug of gratidute, it brings tears to his/her eyes (and yours). The mission of this group of dedicated quilters is to honor and thank members of our military,past and present, who have sacrificed so much for our freedom. The materials, including thread, batting and covers, are purchased entirely by this group. Throughout the year, my involvment is helping with fundraisers to purchase materials.These quilts have been sent all over the United States, also a cost that the group incurs.
