Description of volunteer effort:

Someone Cares is the largest soup kitchen in Orange County that serves a hot, nutritious meal to more than 400 people a day, seven days a week.  The organization spends $1.33 per person to feed the homeless, which represents 40% children, 30% seniors, and 30% adults.  Someone Cares also provides the homeless toiletry items every Tuesday, hands out clothing to those in need, and supports a tutoring program for 45 at-risk children (ages 5-8) every day.During the backpack event we will be sorting the donations and filling the backpacks to get them ready to be handed out on Christmas Eve.
