Project Overview

Description of volunteer effort:

Help celebrate UW’s HuskyFest, Earth Day, and Starbucks Global Month of Service at an urban farm work party in partnership with the University of Washington. Starbucks partners and customers from eight University-area stores, along with UW faculty, staff and students will help ensure a healthy future for three local organizations – the UW Farm, the Center for Urban Horticulture and Seattle Youth Garden Works, all located in Seattle's Laurelhurst neighborhood. Project activities include planting, weeding, mulching and laying wood chip paths, as well as removal of invasive species from the nearby Union Bay Natural Area.  Gloves and tools will be provided and there is free parking available at the Center for Urban Horticulture.
