Ice Breaker: Tell me something about you?

My name is Applegrace Francisco. I have been working for Starbucks since January of last year. I love my store (Cinco Ranch) and everyone I work with. Starbucks has been so good to me especially when it comes to school. I love helping out at other stores when needed and love to create drinks that one day I hope to see on the Starbucks menu. Three things about me: I am currently a student at Sam Houston State and University of Houston. I love Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate with two shots of espresso. I love to run :) How about you?

Good idea!  Why didn't I think of this....oh well Hi my name is Mary Laubenberg and I have worked for Starbucks for over 4 and a half years (the end of June will be my 5th year anniversary) at Westheimer Parkway and Mason (6419).  I am currently a student at Lone Star Community College where I hope to get into the Nursing program.  I am known as the clean/organizational freak of my store.  Also I have been recently diagnosed with Lupus which is an auto immune disorder(no its not cancer everyone asks me if it is) where what happens is that your immune system goes into flares of being hyper active where it begins to attack healthy tissue.  So far my case has been very mild so its not as bad as it could be which is always a good thing.  I am planning on organizing a team for the Lupus walk that is going on in Houston on May 1st so if anyone is interested let me know.

I'm doing my best to come up with some way my area can give back to the community. It seems there's nothing going on here partner connection or community involvement wise.

    Hello Apple Francisco.

    Something about myself:

    1.  I prefer to use real words when texting

    2.  I have a big, lazy, old dog that has actually earned her keep.

    3.  I think I tend to use too many commas

    4.  When I was young, I was a skinny, blonde-haired kid with 20/20 vision...imagine that!

    5.  My favorite espresso drink is a well-made Caramel Macchiato

By the way, the owner of the wallet you found in my store's restroom was extremely thankful.  Without her ID's, she would have missed her flight the next day.  She was very happy to see that there are still honest people (like yourself).  I'll buy your drink the next time I see you.

Hello There! My name is Aimee! I've started working for Starbucks at a license store, inside Safeway(in Colorado)(in 2004). From there I moved to Indiana and worked for a bass pro Starbucks license store. Then I met a customer who worked for Starbucks and told me I was really good at my job and to apply at her store which was opening soon. From there I Moved into the company. I love Starbucks and my job!   Let's see... I loved doing things outside the store for Starbucks, commitiy work, commitiy fundraisers ! I've enjoyed learning many things from all the stores I have now work at! I someday hope to do somethin great within the company!   Besides all that ... Ummm I like to have dance parties with timers to get my partners in the mood. I love doing art, seeing the world, and I'd take and chance to try anything once.. Besides that I'm just your normal batista!

Hello Partners!!  My name is Kasey and I've been with Starbucks since April of 2006, I'm almost at my 5 year mark!!  I am currently running two stores in Gainesville, FL - Plaza Royale and Hunters Crossing.  My drink of choice is a Grande Toffee Nut Soy Latte or a Venti 4 pump Classic Passion Tea Lemonade.  I have been volunteering with the American Cancer Society for the past 5 years and am currently our areas event chair for our local Relay for Life.  February 1st, my district served dinner at our local Hope Lodge, a facility that provides free housing for cancer patients and their caregivers while they are going through cancer treatment.   It was one of the most heartfelt moments in my career at Starbucks.  To see partners come together to do something as simple as make dinner for these people that are going through probably the most difficult time in there life was amazing.  The cancer patients and their caregivers were so thankful.  We've already had requests from partners that were unable to make it to have this event again.  We can't wait to go back!  Currently we are planning a city wide photo scavenger hunt as a fundraiser for our Baristas for a Cure, Relay for Life Team. Every day am I amazed by the impact my fellow partners and I have on our community and I am proud to work for a company that encourages us to give back!

Hi Apple , Round Rock, Tx is less than 30 minutes North of Austin. I only do one pump Frappuccino Roast, nonfat milk, one white mocha, one caramel, one cinnamon dolce (somedays) one coffee light base, light ice, with whip, caramel drizzle and cinnamon dolce sprinkles.  It is sweet and mas more flavor with the coffee, but I feel better with the nonfat and light.  The light ice makes it easier to finish on a ten.  Sometimes I do sugar free cd or caramel.  My favorite part is after I drink the drink down slurping up the melted whip cream caramel tasty goodness.  I am amazed how many partners you are connecting with.  You are so involved with your large Starbucks Community.  Thanks for getting us all together.

I host a Deaf Coffee Night once a month at my store in Surprise, AZ.  It's really cool watching Deaf Community people - their American Sign Language (ASL).  It's my first language ASL!

Been married to my deaf husband Ken for 26 years and we have two grown daughters Karla (25) and Kourtney (21).  Bet you're wondering if they are also deaf.  Nope, they are hearing just like you all.

We are animal lovers.  You see we have 4 dogs and 7 cats.  They are all neutered and spayed.

My favorite drink is Iced/Hot Americano - Decaf - No Water - Breve!

I am a mother of 6 year old TWINS, Sophia and Isaiah and they are the most rewarding thing I have ever done!  They adore Starbucks and their favourite drink is a kids hot chocolate during the winter and a vanilla bean frappuccino during the summer!

March of Dimes is a cause that I believe in and live for every day, because Sophia and Isaiah were born prematurely and if it wasn't for some of the developements in Neonatology that March of Dimes is responsible for, the twins may not have made it!   I can't tell you how much pride, joy and utter gratitude I feel for Starbucks when I can utilize the indivdual Make your Mark grants for a cause I feel strongly about!

That's enough about me, I love reading these posts and learning about you guys!!!!!    We are all doing it together, so keep posting!!!!!

My son was born in respitory distress and the 14 days we spent in the NICU was the hardest times I've had so far, yet so much was gained from the experience. The many volunteers I encountered during our stay changed me for the better. They knitted blankets, held babies with no parents, made meals, donated diaper bags, money, time and long hugs with listening ears. It is an honor for me to be able to give back in any way.

Howdy partners...I work in Oxford Alabama. I am from St. Petersburg FL. We moved to Alabama to be nearer to my husbands family but I really missed home. My husband was a tug boat captain until the "spill" and I was in college. Suddenly we had no income and no insurance. Starbucks hired me and I made fast friends with some great people. Now I know where they were hiding! I feel now like I belong in the community that was before very alien to me. With the help of my partners we have started recycling and I am looking for a clean-up project for our store. I have 4 rescue dogs and a 6 year old son who loves to help me recycle! I drink black coffee...24/7!!! When I want something fancy a Double Tall Vanilla Latte with Vanilla POW on top!

Hello!  My name is Mitch Keller. Let's see I guess I would start my Starbucks story in Canada. I lived there for 3 years. During that time a Starbucks opened up in the City I was living in.  I became really good as friends with the Partners that worked there and always thought it would be a great part time job.  As life would have it, I has to return home to Wisconsin, and when I got home I decided to give Starbucks a try.  I got hired in June. In August I became a shift and had a really great experience in both a cafe and drive threw locations.  Starting on March 14th I'll be moving to my new store to assume the role of ASM. I'm pretty excited bout that and feel it's gonna be another great experience. I have to say that switching my career and moving to Starbucks is once of the best choices I've ever made.  I'm always looking for ways to give back to the community and love to volunteer my time!

Re: Ice Breaker: Tell me something about you?

Hi, My name is BEverly Campbell. I have been with Starbucks for 2 1/2 years now. I love it. I sure do love working there. I am a retired from GM. for five years. Needed just to have something to do. Working for Starbucks part time suits my needs. I love the atmosphere and the co-workers especially my boss. I do have three grown children and one grand-daughter who will be 8 soon. This gives me the chance to supplement my retirement. I love the benefits that go along with being a partner.  The chance to meet different people everyday and the chance to serve the regular customers who come in everyday. Working for Starbucks  has sure been a great adventure. I feel like I am on a new chapter in my life.

I've got a fulfilling happy life with four teenager daughters and a part time job as an Art teacher.  I'm in my mid-fifties and Starbucks has helped me to realize I WILL NEVER RETIRE,...because I love the mix of work/social and especially being able to make a difference everyday! I learn so much in my interactions with people everyday and it makes me purdy darn happy!
