Partners,
How will you show up for April Month of Service this year? Let's share what we are doing across the world with each other. In the Midwest region we kick off on April 1st as partners in Detroit will serve over 1000 meals to the hungry at a soup kitchen we have partnered with for seven years. Now is the time to plan your April and summer events. How can we involve more customers this year?
Hi Marty,
I will be working with my communities local food back to find out what will be the greatest impact for me to help and involve our partners and customers from LS, CO and the community.
Good Morning!
In the month of April my district will be participating in our local Relay for Life. April 14th and 15th the event will be held at one of the local colleges. This will be our 6th year participating. Last year my team was the top team in the state of Florida and number two in the company so we have high hopes again this year! We are already talking to customers about joining our team and more partners are signing up every day!
Hello Fellow Partners
In Area 66 for April month of service we have a challenge of 30 parks in 30 days. Each District is leading at 3 to 9 park projects though out April. Every district in Area 66 will have a park project on April 22, Earth day. We have a passionate community lead in each district organizing all these inspiring park events around Indiana. So please give a huge shout out to Amy Perlich, Summer Pennington, Patrick Roberts, Nikki Salinas, Becca Puckett, Vanessa Crawford, Megan Dougherty, Rocco Flores, Lesley Landis, and Izzy Perez for all their hard work and drive in making April month of service greatly impactful for our partners and our communities. Way to go Team!
Our Mighty Area 66 team is cleaning up over 30 parks in 30 days during the month of April. In addition we will support Indianapolis Race for the Cure & the Women's Development Network of Indianapolis will sponsor Paint the Town Pink!
Thanks to our Community Leads--April Keller, Amy Perlich, Summer Pennington, Patrick Roberts, Becca Puckett, Vanessa Crawford, Megan Dougherty, Rocco Flores, Lesley Landis, & Izzy Perez!!!
In April many of us will be attending an event in the San Francisco area. Looks like it will be 11 different projects throughout the City with one goal. Should be an Amazing day.
Here in Ottawa we are having a bowl-a-thon to raise money for Camp Quality, a summer camp for children with cancer. All stores in the city will be raising money for this cause, last year our store was 3rd in the city, we'll be #1 this year for sure!
Here in Central Virginia, our goal is to have every store participate in Community Service in April AND give every partner the opportunity to volunteer in April. We are working with Hands On Greater Richmond to plan a large scale event and give back to our communities. Thanks for continuing to carry the torch Marty!
I am looking forward to participating in a large scale event. A few partners from my store have participated in a project not listed on this site. A partner attempted to post the project in this portal. He received a rejection email, which did not explain the rejection. This was frustrating, but we still volunteered. I have not recorded these hours, and would welcome any coaching for proper listing and documentation of service work efforts.
Burton, give me a call and I can help you. 2487052135 Marty.
We're kicking off things in Battle Creek by helping our local Leila Arboretum with cleanup work near the end of March. We'll be focusing on community cleanup this year and are reaching out to our customers to team with us.
Our district (Rockville and Gaithersburg stores, MD) will be cleaning the Crabbs Branch Park on April 14th (part of the Rock Creek Park). This cleanup is a part of the Extreme Cleanup of the Alice Fergusson Potomac River Watershed cleanup. We are cleaning up just a portion of this this huge area, there are going to be many teams making sure that the trash does not get into the Potomac River which is a source of water supply for the Greater Washington DC area. Both partners and customers will be part of the event.
For those who can't make it to this event we have an alternative event on April 19th, we will be sorting food donations at our local Manna Food Center.
Happy volunteering!

Hey everyone!
Man. As a company sounds like we are (like always) going above and beyond this month!
My area (Sacramento, CA) has been involved with multiple food banks and shelters. Sorting, prepping and serving those in need. Just last week we had a river clean up day - so cold and muddy but awesome! This weekend we have multiple events so I am sure we will be spread thin! We are currently collecting funds for our May "walk for wishes" and donations for the SPCA. My team alone has had reading events for local libraries and collected and packed items for the Lukemia and Lymphoma society. Next week we have all committed to showing our Nor CAL pride and attending the huge SF event on the 28th.
I think this month has really pushed us as a team and I am excited to keep it going throughout the year, not just this month! But I will say how amazing it has been and seeing all the green shirts everywhere as we leave our mark on the community!
We are conducting a book drive and volunteering to clean books that will be redistributed through the community.
Wow! Today I have joined an Earth Day 2012 project that (so far) has 122
partners signed up. We will be working in our National ZOO in Washington DC. Partners are from all over the place, it will be huge and I have never been a part of a big project like this. How cool is this?
I can't wait!
Anna
Marty - Nice job on representing Starbucks in Detroit. We saw the news clip and are very proud of the work you and the partners completed in that community. Thank you! Valerie
Thank you! We are looking forward to the first planting at Farm City this year and the complete farm in 2013. Save the World - Starting with Detroit!
I had a great time this month in April giving back to our local communities! On April 10th, worked on the Motor City Blight Buster event, helping to build urban farming in Detroit. April 21st help clean up Belle Isle and knocked out some invasive honeysuckle. April 24th worked in the Capuchin Soup Kitchen helping and connecting with local people in Detroit. April 28th help lead the MS walk in Bloomfield Hills and raise awareness in hopes of finding a cure for MS. Today ended the month with the March of Dimes walk for babies in Troy. I enjoyed working with other partners and getting to know new partners and customers though these events while helping others out!
Jennifer, thank you for the invitation to participate at the March of Dimes.. Please keep me in the loop of other events.. I am always willing to help out..

I will for sure include you in any upcoming events! It was nice to meet you at the March of Dimes event!
We spent the month supporting Relay for Life (American Cancer Society). We had a bakesale, recycling collection, raffles, jail-and-bail, restaurant fundraisers, etc. We started a lending library in our store where customers can give and take books for free. We collected trash in the woods by a local creek. We packed food at the largest emergency food bank in our county. We started recycling whip cream chargers, cell phones, rechargable batteries, sneakers, coffee bags, and scrap metal. And we had fun!
