"Aohe Hana Nui Ke Alu Ia" no task is too big when done together by all.
Laulima acknowledges that it took na lima (many hands) to harvest lau - the bounty of the land and sea. A great example of this can be found in the community tradition of hukilau where everyone in the community came together to huki (pull or tug) on the lau (drag net). Every family was expected to "give a hand" to the task of hauling in the nets. Once on land, the day's catch would be distributed among the families. this act of working together side by side for the common good demonstrates lokahi - workin in unity and solidarity with single-mindedness and purpose. By working as one, all were fed.
