What a great day!  I truly enjoyed meeting everyone... what was your favorite part?

I loved the tree gymnastics during the morning shift.   See photos in the photo album!

I really enjoyed getting to work side by side other partners and creating new relationships. It was amazing to step back and see how much work can be done when we are working together as a team. This urban farm is a physical representation of how Starbucks supports and engages our community here in Nashville. My family is passionate about healthy sustainable agriculture and having access to safe local food. Here are a couple of bullet points from the HON website that really made me passionate about this project!

    • Produce harvested from the farm is donated to local nonprofits that serve low-income communities.
    • HON's Urban Farm hosts a Youth Service Camp, a free summer program that teaches Nashville area youth about sustainable agriculture, health, and food security.
    • Hands On Nashville's Urban Agriculture Program empowers volunteers to gain gardening skills, learn about healthy eating choices, and help address our city's food access issues.
    • The HON Urban Farm will help rehabilitate an area of the Mill Creek floodway, engage volunteers in service and learning, and help create a healthier, more sustainable food system in Nashville.
