Today's event was amazing! Thank you to almost all of my team for coming out and walking! Thank you to LW for covering our store! Thank you to Customers Barbra and her sister, Cassandra and 4 of her kiddos and Ryan for coming out to walk with us! We love the support and I absolutely love the team work and passion we all have. I am proud to have you all as my team and today was truely priceless. We raised 1,217 dollars so far (funds can be collected till July) and we racked up 96 hours!! May not seem like all that much but that is so HUGE! The biggest event I have ever logged and I can't wait to do it all again! Thanks guys for a great day and a truely memorable time!
Sorry I missed it! Now That I have this site I can join as time g allows. Glad it was areat day, keep up the good work!
Thanks Cal!
Sorry you guys couldn't make the walk- hopefully visiting with the brother in law was good. There are plenty more events happening and I will be sure to keep you and Roxanne in the loop!
Thanks again for getting on the site and for being so eager and willing to help out! You guys are great examples of what and how easy customers joining in on the community stuff is!
See you for sure Friday for the ZOO day! ![]()
Hey Gina, I came by earlier today and I must've missed the group. I got redirected to join the table that was distributing breakfast. Hopefully, there's more opportunities in the future where I can sign up and serve with your group again. Til then, keep up the good work.

Hey Paul.
Sorry we missed you! I am surprised you didn't see one of the many crazy partners of mine! Haha, there was so many people there tho and the turn out was amazing! Thank you for going and being a part of something so great! There was a few different groups from Starbucks out there- at least you got to stay with "Starbucks"... I wish I saw the food table!
Where are you from? There are plenty of opportunities to serve with us or just in the area. My store is doing a ZOO day this Friday and then next week we have two Food Banks- 1 on Tuesday in Folsom and then 1 on Wednesday in Roseville. We would love to have an extra hand! Or two!
Let me know so I can look out for you or if you are involved with anything and want my support you just let me know!!
Thanks for your good wishes and thanks for coming out Saturday, again- sorry we missed you!

Hey Gina,
I'm from Boston. I actually moved here to Sacramento for work. I served with City Year Boston for two years and I moved to Sacramento to be a part of the start-up team for City Year Sacramento. City Year is an education-based, non-profit that places teams of Americorps members into schools to tutor and mentor elementary, middle school and high school students who are off track in attendance, behavior or coursework so that those students can stay in school and on track to graduate high school. We are part of a larger network of City Year sites. There are 24 sites across the US, one in London and another in South Africa. In fact, Starbucks was a corporate sponsor of our site in Seattle and I'm pretty sure they are still sponsoring teams of City Year corps members across the country.
Here in Sacramento we've been working extremely hard to reach out to the community to create awareness of our organization and engage the community through service. I just got out of a meeting with my 13 other colleagues and they were all very interested in the service work that Starbucks was doing in the community. We would like to partner with Starbucks because the area where our organizations align is our service work and I think there's an opportunity there to do something great together.
I told my team about the opportunities coming up in the next ten days and I wanted to follow up with you about more information. Could you give me specific times and locations around the Zoo Day and Food Banking opportunities? It would make it easier for us to see if we can move some things around in our schedules to join you on those days.
I would also love to invite you to see our service in action through our Visitor's Program. Right now, we're running a pilot program at Oak Ridge Elementary School in Oak Park, and that partnership is a great example of what our future school partnerships would look like this fall when we move into 5 schools. My email is pwillis@cityyear.org if you're interested in learning more. Please feel free to email me about more opportunities to serve with Starbucks. I look forward to receiving the details for the 3 events in the next 10 days. Thank you for your commitment to the community.

Hey Paul.
Well welcome and I have never been to Boston so I hope Sacramento isn't too bad in comparison!
As for City Year and your guys's organization it sounds amazing! That is so great to be a part of the kids lives like that and help them change for the better whatever the circumstance. I will definately check you guys out online! It's really awesome that you heard about the Starbucks web site and are using it to get involved with us and all our doings as well.
Let me start by sharing that I am my districts lead in community so that is why I have been so involved and pushy about helping out in the community but I am only hear in Rocklin. I have been trying to get involved with stuff not just in my actual community but definately reaching out as well. In regards to the events I was talking about previously this Friday, the 25th at 8am - 12 pm my store and potentially a few other partners will be at the Folsom Zoo (address is under the project - just type in zoo for project look up and you will find it) and then for next week we have two events: One on Tuesday from 9-1230pm at the Twin Lakes food bank in Folsom and the other in Roseville at the Placer food bank Wednesday from 8-12pm. Both also are listed under projects (easiest way to find them all is search by area). The events have the specific times, all the partners involved and the addresses. I hope that helps!
As for another contact with Starbucks Rob Webb is the District Manager and our regions community lead so he is very influential and just a great guy. He is the leader of the Twin Lakes food bank event so I would definately reach out to him as well. I hope this gives you a good start on working with our community and yes please let me know what we can do to support you and your team! We are always willing to help- and if my store and I can't there is a Starbucks that can!
Great connecting with you and hope to see you sometime soon at one of the three events!
