UPDATE: Final FY11 Partner Match deadline extended to August 22

Due to a technical glitch, some partners have been unable to submit requests for the past several weeks. The issue will be resolved by early next week. In an effort to ensure that as many partners as possible can submit fiscal year-end requests, the final FY11 deadline has been pushed back to August 22.
Submit your Partner Match requests and check in with each organization to make sure they've verified your gift now to ensure you make the updated August 22 deadline. Verified requests will be processed and approved grants will be sent by early October. Gifts verified after August 22 will roll into the first review of FY12.
Refer to the Partner Match guidelines for full details.

Hi Anna. I was wondering if I bought a charitable gift in another partner's name would that partner qualify for the partner match? We are doing a secret santa and I was thinking of buying some mango trees in his name from Plan canada, an organization that gives gifts to different communities in need. I wanted that partner to be able to go and do the match not myself. Thanks Chris
Hi Chris -
Nice gift idea! As the donor, you would need to request the matching gift yourself. But it would be great to let the partner to whom you're giving the gift that you doubled the contribution.
thanks,
Anna
Hi Anna! I'm a new partner and I volunteer at the UGM Women's Crisis Shelter. How do I sign up to record the time I volunteer? I've looked all over this site and can't seem to find it.
Thanks,
Sarah
Hi Sarah -
Thanks for your post. To record time you've contributed to a non-profit on your own, go to the Record page (http://community.starbucks.com/community/record) and click on the orange button that reads "Record Your Gift."
Please let me know if you need anything else.
Anna
I am part of a non profit called Embracing Orphans. I started here locally in Walla Walla and does work with abused and neglected orphans of Jamaica. I have tried several times to get my hours accounted for. I submitted a request for the organization to be reviewed. How long does it take for them to approve an organization? I also am involved with Younglife here locally and have come across the same issue of awaiting approval.
Hi Amber -
Thanks for your involvement. To learn more about the nomination process, please visit this discussion on the site: http://community.starbucks.com/message/1919#1919.
thank you,

Hey Anna,
I was wondering if there is any way to add my volunteer hours without nominating the organization? My manager asked if I could help out at the New West Pride event giving out coffee and I was happy to help out but now I'd like to add the hours I spent there helping out to the starbucks community total but I don't have the information required to nominate the organization. Can you help me out?
Thanks so much,
Ashley Keegan.
Hi Ashley -
Good question. We require that in order to report hours, they must have been contributed to a qualified (i.e. 501(c)(3) organizations). It's likely that most organizations partners volunteer with will be among the 1.6 million organizations on our list.
While brewing and serving coffee is an important part of many community activities, we do not count the time partners spend doing this as it appears to be marketing-driven.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
thanks,
Anna
