On April 26th, 2012 Starbucks partners and customers joined together to pack meals to feed area children and their families specifically targeting underserved areas of Seminole and Orange Counties. With just over 50 volunteers, we were able to exceed our goal of 10,000 meals in just under two hours.
Here is what our invitation looked like on the website.
Florida, Packing Events April 26, 2012
Who: It’s the Starbucks Global Month of Service! During their Global Month of Service, Starbucks partners (employees) and customers dedicate their time and energy to create positive change in their local neighborhoods by participating in service projects. This year, local Starbucks in Central Florida have decided to join us in the fight against hunger as their project! Baristas, friends, family and local members of the community will be packaging meals outside of the Bear Lake & 436 location to help stock crisis hunger food pantries with our healthy meals in local public schools.
What: Volunteers will be hand-packing 10,000 nutritious meals. There will be great music, good fun and the chance to make a meaningful difference here in our community during this meal packing event.
When: April 26, 2012 from 3pm-5pm
How to Get Involved: Please sign up to volunteer by clicking the link below, everyone is welcome! Also, one of our greatest needs is donations. With each meal only costing 25 cents, you can make a huge difference with the change in your pocket! Lastly, by clicking Fundraise below you can help get the word out to your social network and give the opportunity for your friends to be involved in providing meals for hungry children here in Central Florida.
