I have joined this project; however, I need additional information on the event and how this Starbucks Community Service site works? Is there someone I am supposed to get in contact to register as a volunteer and if so, who? Do I contact the organization directly?
Thanks,
Laurie
I agree - I was told to sign up here to help but no idea what I'm supposed to do next.. It's in 2 days and I'm lost! Hope something happens soon so I'm prepared to help out!
I gave up, I tried contacting the Special Olympics directly and got no answer. The person listed for Orange and Osceola county is not in charge of the volunteers anymore and so I ended up calling Disney's Wide World of Sports and was told that they are full and don't need any more volunteers for this event. I don't know what this Starbucks Community Service site is for, what is the point in joining a project if you can't get an answer from anyone and there is no information listed on how this is supposed to work. Very frustrating when you have people ready and willing to help and you get zero help. Maybe I need to write Starbucks Corporate?
Laurie, sorry for the delay. I just saw this. They just re-designed the site and I wasn't aware that customers could also volunteer. In the beginning, it was only for partners. Again, I apologize.
I have given a list of volunteers to Disney based on the volunteers listed on the project page. You should be able to let them know that you are with Starbucks and they will have you sign a volunteer waiver. It's usually pretty hot out so we encourage everyone to wear shorts and tennis shoes (a shirt is provided).
We have done this for 4 years and we get out there at 4:30 a.m. to serve breakfast to the volunteers. For the other volunteers that don't want to come out that early, they usually arrive at around 7 a.m.
If you need further information, please contact me at Starbucks Howell Branch: 407-672-0273. Thanks, Kelly
