Starbucks Family,
Today I walked with my Mom, Shift Supervisor Tamar and many other partner's in today's AIDS Walk. It was a truly inspiring event. A sea of supporters joined in such a beautiful day to walk 6.5 miles and show strength to find a cure that has affected each and everyone of us in some way. Once complete, we rushed over to a Memorial service for Jimmy Garza a long time Customer of my store on 93rd and Broadway. He succumb to his illness a few weeks back and we were invited along with many of my customers to pay our respects. So as we entered the chapel, sweaty sore and out of breath.. Allan his partner stated from the podium.. Starbucks Kids are you here?! Mind you these are his first words.. I am standing in the back and I scream.. WE ARE HERE waving a 1# bag of Sumatra (Jimmy's favorite).. Allan then tells the attendees we just arrived from the Walk and everyone applauded. I cannot stress to you how important it is to "live beyond the cup." We touch more lives than you will ever know. I am so blessed to have known Jimmy and his passing just brought me closer to my commitment to life, spirit and love...
Making EVERY bean Count!
I remain....
I love this story. Thank you for sharing it and thank you for making Starbucks such a wonderful company. With partners like this we truely are the best company to work for, be a part of and together we do so much more than just serve coffee.
Thank you Sherice and team. I definatly cried a little bit.
Really great.
This one is a "tearmaker!" How fantastic! We can't even imagine how much we become a part of our customers' lives. That is my favorite part of this job!
Just awesome!
Thanks for sharing Sherica and thanks for making a difference!
